Flash Advance -> FA Turbo -> FA Pro and later the Flash Advance Xtreme Linker and GBA FA Xtreme card was announced. FA Xtream Linker can use both USB or Printer port to connect to PC. When using USB to connect to a computer sending gba roms to the cart works ~30% faster and the linker doesn't requier seperate power supply or batteries like the older Flash linkers did. When used on Printer / LPT port power supply is neccesary.
FA Linker Xtreme is compatible with old 64M, 128M and 256M Flash Advance Cards. Brand new serie of cards was released for the Xtreme 128M 256M and 512M card. 1 G card was planed but didn't make it ot the retailers.

So to sum it up - if you already have a FA linker and cards you could get FA Linker Xtream to save a bit of time and batteries, but if you are just now thinking about getting a Linker and Flash Cards you should definatly get the USB version, becouse the extra $10 you spend on FA Xtreme will save you a lot more in batteries and it will be compatible with all Flash Advance Cartridges past and future.
