 XG-Flash
: XG1
We have here basically the same thing as the EZ-Flash, except
cheaper. How come? Well, it is rumored that the XG team simply
copied the EZ1 and they now sell it for less. However, the
XG-Flash has its own software and compatibility with the EZ1
could in no way be viewed as a disadvantage :)
Despite it's lack of hardware features, such as the realtime-clock, hardware
saves for EEPROM_1.24 and 1Mb Flash, cheat functions, and without a super long
battery life, you will get GBA ROMs onto a flash cartridge for a cheap price.
A major downside which may put down some users is that you must recharge your
cart through USB to keep the save battery charged up every 3 weeks or so. This
can be annoying for some, but others may find it easy to simply put the cart
into the linker cradle and plug it into the computer every night.
The very good flashing software Little Writer is available for the XG1, and that
is a major plus. With Little Writer, there will be no need to patch your ROMs,
amongst many other features. Pogoshell 2.0. is also said to work with the XG1,
but if you are buying a cart for Pogoshell, I suggest the F2A over the XG1.
Though it does the job for a cheaper price than the EZ1, there are many stability
concerns floating around the XG1, and many peoples have had many problems with
theirs. It is a cheaper alternative, but is it worth the money?
